Okay, it’s the end of February and it seems like our winter has already come and gone. Not that we’re complaining after all flowers are already coming up! We were saving our hot toddy recipe for a bitterly cold evening but it looks like it will be soothing on a cold damp spring evening instead. Soooo, on the next damp & chilly evening, break out your tartan blanket and snuggle up with our soothing Toddy. Recipe after the jump.
3 teaspoons honey
1 cinnamon stick
5 whole cloves
1 whole anise star
2 ounces whiskey
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 slice lemon
1/4 cup water
1 lemon peel studded with 5 cloves
In a small sauce pan add all ingredients except for vanilla & studded lemon peel. Heat until just under a boil. Remove from heat, add vanilla and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Strain into a glass over studded lemon peel & serve!
Our brandy glass isn’t just for brandy! You’re also getting a sneak peak of one of our new 100% linen kitchen clothes that works just as well on the table as it does at drying off plates. In the mean time you can use one of our blended linen napkins.
*TIP* Studding the lemon peel with the cloves allows for the taste to infuse your drink while keeping all those pesky little cloves to one place.
