About us

In 2006, we set out to collaborate with a new generation of designers and some of the world’s finest master artisans to create thoughtfully designed objects for the table. Over the past two years, we’ve traveled to 14 different countries, visited countless studios and workshops, met new people, seen new places and learned a couple things along the way.

With our launch in Spring 2008, we’ve had a chance to step back and realize that Teroforma has become a place where old-world techniques are combined with contemporary ideals, where understated elegance is the result of intentional simplicity, and where uncommon quality can become a part of every day.

We believe that the beauty of an object is a reflection of the thought and care of those who made it. And that knowing the story of the creative process and the people involved means appreciating what you hold in your hands even more.

Whether it’s a Norwegian designer working with a master glassblower from the Czech Republic or a ceramics designer from London sitting together with a master gong-bi artist from Tangshan, the thing that matters most is the language of creativity. And the fact that it will always have a place to be heard.

FYI…

We thought long and hard about a print catalogue but ultimately came to the conclusion that they are kind of wasteful. Generally, they are sent in the hopes that you’ll remember to go to a website. We aren’t into waste and, well, you’re already here.

What we WILL do is offer an on-request print catalogue feature by the end of 2008. Check back with us then.
